Chart-topping artists Iggy Azalea, John Legend, Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams and Drake are among a slew of finalists for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

Out of the 40 categories, Smith earns 13 nods, including Top Male Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album (In the Lonely Hour). Azalea follows with 12 mentions, including Top Rap Album (The New Classic). Other finalists include Legend with seven nods, Williams with six mentions, while Minaj and Drizzy racked up four nominations apiece.

The Billboard Music Awards finalists are based on year-round tabulations from album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social-media interactions.

ABC will air the Billboard Music Awards live from Las Vegas on May 17 at 8PM ET.
