Kids may have had to sit out from participating in yesterday's (February 1) Iowa Caucus, but America's next great contest is exclusively in the hands of the country's children.

The Kids' Choice Awards, through which the younger bunch chooses the best in movies, TV and music, will air Saturday, March 12, and today (January 2), the ceremony finally unveiled its nominees. Strangely, as far as music's concerned, the hopefuls aren't so different from the Grammy Awards list of noms.

Where Song of the Year's concerned, Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" will square off against Adele's "Hello," The Weeknd's "Cant Feel My Face," Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," Drake's "Hotline Bling" and Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" Alessia Cara, DNCE, OMI, Shawn Mendes and Silento will battle for Best New Artist honors, and Nicki Minaj has managed the unlikely feat of being nominated for Best Female Singer.

"Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande won last year's Song of the Year award, while Fifth Harmony was named best new artist.

Twenty-two total categories — including Favorite Video Game, Favorite Cooking Show and Favorite Talent Competition — are now open to votes.

Blake Shelton will host the show, and jokingly told Today in October that he's excited to serve as inspiration to the audience.

"I’m like the reality,” he said. “I’m like ‘Here’s what you’re gonna end up like, kids. This is the best you can hope for."

Who do you think's deserving of the coveted orange blimp? Check out the full list of nominees and vote now.
