Work to redevelop two abandoned Endicott Johnson structures in Johnson City is almost finished.

The $29 million project converted the old EJ Century and Sunrise buildings between Baldwin and Willow streets into 105 apartments.

Developer Larry Regan of Regan Development Corporation said both buildings should be ready for occupancy in about two weeks. He said some residents already have moved in.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Regan said about 60 of the units in the Century Sunrise Residences have been rented. He said they should be occupied by the end of the month.

The apartments are located just south of the newly-constructed Binghamton University Pharmacy School building, which is opening this month.

Regan said he expects a lease will be signed soon for 9,000 square feet of commercial space in the complex. He said the business he expects will occupy the site will bring people into the area.
