You would call me a liar if I told you a school has already used a snow day. Well, I am  not lying. A school in New Jersey has already used a show day on a day when temperatures almost topped 90 degrees.

An electrical problem has forced one school district to declare a snow day. Classes were canceled Tuesday in Keyport because of a malfunctioning component at the district's elementary school.

Officials cited student safety concerns for their decision, noting the building lacked reliable power so students and staff members would be facing a day with no phones, Internet or fire alarms. So Keyport Superintendent Lisa Savoia said they logged the unexpected day off as a snow day, two of which are built into its school calendar.
