Fans of viral sensation April the Giraffe will be glad to hear that her calf Tajiri will be staying with his mother for some time, sort of.

The original plan of moving Tajiri to North Carolina has been put on hold due to construction issues, according to Animal Adventure Park.

The park says it costs about $50,000 a year to keep Tajiri in Harpursville and his new new housing facility will cost about $175,000.

Giraffe calves can get aggressive as they mature in age, causing problems between mother and offspring. The park says moving calves is the ideal situation. Moving them also helps spread out their genetic diversity.

When Tajiri moves to his new housing, he will be featured in Animal Adventure Park's "Wild of Asia" exhibit.
