A few weeks back, A$AP Rocky was named the new Creative Director for MTV Labs, saying in a statement, "MTV is a name we grew up with – everyone knows them as innovators and champions of building artist’s careers. I’m honored to have this opportunity and can’t wait to show people what we have been working on.” With the above Instagram post, Rocky shows a little bit of that work, as Lil Uzi Vert stars in a new promo for the brand.

In the above clip, Rocky talks about coming out of Harlem with the A$AP Mob, and his ties with Uzi run similarly deep. Last week it was reported that Uzi's $100,000 Ben Baller chain required a Rocky co-sign before being commissioned, and the Harlem rapper said afterward, "Uzi family. Uzi came up with us.”

Now, Lil Uzi Vert is from Philadelphia, but the drive between Philly and New York is minor, all things considered. It isn't clear what Rocky will be conjuring beyond the one promo, as he also posted the blow photo of the MTV Labs logo.

Niels Schuurmans, EVP and Chief Creative Officer at Viacom Velocity, the company's in-house creative agency, said at the time of Rocky's new role, “A$AP Rocky is a unique millennial artist whose influence as an innovator and disruptor spans music, film, art, and fashion. What was so compelling to us is his authentic love for fans and the MTV brand, along with his desire to collaborate with us and our marketing partners to develop ideas that drive real cultural impact.”
