Almost 11 years ago to the day, High School Musical introduced the world to a brand new generation of singing and dancing Disney pop princesses, including Vanessa "V" Hudgens and the Headstrong diva herself, Ashley Tisdale. And Zac Efron.

The then-newest members of mid-to-late '00s teen-pop royalty blessed us with several albums and one-off records ("$$$ex"!) over the years following the debut of their smash hit series, dabbling in edgy acting endeavors (Spring Breakers!), dressing in enviable Coachella ensembles and finding themselves in NSFW scandals aplenty – but never before have the longtime BFFs sat down and supplied a song together.

Until now.

In what can only be considered the first sure sign of hope for the remainder of 2017, "Hot Mess" crooner A. Tizzy posted a video today (Jan. 3) on her YouTube channel as part of her ongoing Music Sessions singing series...co-starring none other than Baby V herself.

"This is actually, like, our first duet together. We did not have a song together in High School Musical, just the two of us. We always wanted one, too," Ashley giddily declared before the two, sitting cross-legged in a Boho-chic styled tent in Ashley's living room (?), started in on their sweetly-sung live (?) acoustic take on Elle King's "Ex's & Oh's." (Update: Vanessa is wearing the Elisabetta Shag Fur Jacket by AS by DF, a rep informs me via email, if you'd like to #GetTheHudgensLook.)

Watch the two Disney superstars take on their historic duet — and repeatedly stare deeply into each other's eyes while doing so — up top.

Here's hoping this collabo signals the grand return of the two to the pop scene in 2017.
