We all want that distinction of being romantic. But, you might want to scratch these moves off of your list of romantic moves.

If you want the distinction of being a romantic person, you might want to remove these romantic moves from your holster.

Huffington Post has come up with some romantic things that aren't so romantic. Are you one of those people that cares too much about the cliche things? Sending roses, sappy cards, and candy are nice if you want to convey the message that you care enough to send... something. It's far sweeter if you take the time to really listen and personalize your tokens of affection.

Check out these other romantic no-no's:

2. Pulling a 'Pop In'
Surprises -- as in, "Surprise! We're going to Barbados for a romantic weekend away!" -- can be good. But surprises along the lines of unexpected visits (the "pop in" to "Seinfeld" fans) aren't so well received. People do weird stuff in their private time, so don't interrupt her leg waxing or his evening constitutional just because you were "in the neighborhood." This is what cell phones were invented for. Call first.

3. Aiming to Improve
Are you guilty of buying stuff that you'd like to see your sweetie in, without giving any thought to whether it will really flatter or please them? Buying your jeans-and-a-T-shirt guy a swanky new tie will only make him wonder if you know him at all. Get a grasp on your honey's personal style, and buy something he or she will really dig.

4. Stretching the Sap Factor
Don't bury your main squeeze in the mushy stuff. Poetry, love letters and the saccharine radio song dedications (all in one day) just scream "needy!" You want to be sweet, not send your honey into sugar shock. In your own words, and in your own ways, you can be sure he or she feels the love... without the diabetic coma.
