Beer Trivia Facts!

With Binghamton On Tap occurring in a few months, I thought it would be fun to share some interesting beer trivia from Alcohol Problems and Solutions!

The Puritans brought more beer than they did water over on the Mayflower.
And the Pilgrims landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts because they were running low on beer.
One of the first buildings on Harvard University campus was a brewery! It was built so that students would have beer to drink in the dining hall.
Beer was first available in bottles in 1850, and first available in cans in 1935.
The oldest known recipe in the world is one for beer.
The word "beer" comes from the Latin word for "to drink" which is "bibere".
During the Middle Ages, monks both brewed beer and drank up to five quarts of it everyday!
