R&B superstar Beyonce leads the nominations for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. Queen Bey received eight nods including Video of the Year for her lover's anthem 'Drunk in Love.'

Following behind Beyonce are rappers Iggy Azalea and Eminem with seven mentions each. Pharrell Williams nabbed four nominations and is the only male nominated in the Video of the Year category for 'Happy.'

Also receiving multiple nominations are Jay Z, Ariana Grande, Lorde, Sam Smith, Pitbull and Jason Derulo.

So far, Usher and Ariana Grande are the first two music acts slated to perform at the VMAs. This will be the R&B crooner's first performance at the event since 2010.

“Performing live is the purest form of musical expression and I am damn happy to return to the VMA stage with new music," he said.

The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., at 9PM ET. For more information, click here.
