Is it bigger always better? I'm talking about engagement rings, get your mind out of the gutter! Well when it comes to engagement rings bigger may not be better. Here's what researchers have found.

According to researchers at Emory University in Atlanta they found that man who spent between $2000 and $4000 on an engagement ring are 130% more likely to get divorced than men who only spent $500-$2000. So the study found that the bigger the engagement ring is, the smaller the chance that the marriage will last!

The research was also the same when it came to what the couples spent on their wedding. The research found that couples who spent more than $20,000 on their weddings are 350% more likely to get divorced and people who only spent under $10,000.

But it sounds like the people doing the research don't really know how much these things actually cost. The average man now spends around $5600 on an engagement ring and the average wedding costs around $29,000. Both of those averages are higher than the high and range of their studies.

But it goes back to is bigger always better? Apparently not when it comes to engagement rings and what you spend on the actual wedding!
