City of Binghamton residents who had frozen pipes and were instructed to keep running a trickle of water through at least one faucet could be getting a break on their water bill.

Mayor Richard David is asking City Council to approve a relief plan that would review the water charges in this billing period to the same period last year and waive any charges above last year’s amount.

Hundreds of residents were left without water for days as the city scrambled to thaw frozen lines and repair water line breaks.

The city is still delivering water to affected residents.

Residents can get more information by calling the City Treasurer’s office at (607) 772-7027.
