Binghamton Police Arrest Man At Downtown Garage

A Binghamton man who was observed checking vehicle doors in a downtown parking ramp has been charged.
Authorities say 40-year-old Demetrius Armstrong was arrested on State Street on Wednesday.
Investigators say police were called to the State Street garage after a person was seen going from vehicle to vehicle, apparently looking for unlocked doors.
Armstrong was charged with attempted petit larceny. He was released on an appearance ticket.
A 25-year-old Binghamton man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a series of "smash-and-grab" vehicle break-ins. Detectives believe that man had been involved in several incidents. He was charged with felony grand larceny.
