Jackie Nutt Dines At Number 5 For Restaurant Week!

Binghamton Restaurant Week has be the one of the best things that has happened to me since moving here haha!!! It is when a handful of restaurants offer a 3 course meal at a fixed (and discounted) price! The best part is that the proceeds go to benefit two charities; Truth Pharm and CHOW.

The fall restaurant week runs for 10 days; October 18th to October 27th and offers a number of different choices for dinner and lunch! (see the restaurant list here). Last night I had the unbelievable pleasure of dining at 'Number 5' on Washington Street with my friend Bridget... and OH. MY. GOODNESS!!

My first was an 'Apple cider braised bacon steak' .... yeah! Incredible piece of braised steak, wrapped in bacon and top with a delicious apple radish salad. The apples may not sound completely appealing to you, but they added such a nice refreshing crisp!

For the second course, I ordered the 'Petite Greek Tenderloin' cooked medium and with a side of mashed potatoes! I kid you not, am in no way lying... i got goosebumps all over after putting that first bit of steak into my mouth!!!! (I promised Bridget that I would include this in my blog haha). The steak was cooked perfectly at medium and was sitting in this incredible lemon garlic butter (OH MY GOD I WANT IT AGAIN NOW!!!!!!!!).

& lastly, dessert.. which I am surprised I even had room for after the first 2 plates and 2 beers haha!! Anything chocolate, I'm game so I went with the 'Homemade Chocolate Decadence!' It was like a chocolate pillow for my mouth, I dont know how to describe something that amazing!!

I want to make 2 final notes!! First, I finished EVERY SINGLE PLATE!!!!! & second, I want to give a HUGE shout out to our waitress, Renee! She was a complete sweetheart, made sure we knew everything about their restaurant week menu, she came back after each plate to make sue everything was tasting/cooked right, just perfect!

Now Thursday I will be heading out to Zona's for some lunch & will give another complete review!!!
