Binghamton Teams Support Uber

The Binghamton Senators and Rumble Ponies say they support ride-sharing services.

A joint news release from the local teams said having services like Uber in Binghamton would draw more business to the arena and stadium with the elimination of parking issues and getting students from campus downtown.

New York State lawmakers are currently considering allowing Uber, Lyft and other services to expand into areas outside of New York City.

Local team officials say they are joining a bipartisan coalition in support of the expansion. That expansion support also includes lawmakers with Binghamton Mayor Richard David among those signing on.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said he supports the expansion.
