Binghamton Woman Accused of Sexually Abusing a Baby

A Binghamton woman is charged with felony sexual exploitation of children, producing child pornography and possessing child pornography.

34-year-old Latasha Mitchell, has been charged in federal court following an investigation launched by a tip through the New York State Child Abuse Hotline.

Binghamton Police arrested Mitchell in February and charged her with felony criminal sexual act in connection with the abuse of a baby boy.

Federal prosecutors say sexually abusive video of the infant boy was found on the woman’s cell phone.

Officials say the case is in federal court since the video apparently was made in another country.

According to prosecutors, a person who was on probation found Mitchell’s cell phone after she misplaced it and found the video.

Mitchell is the custody of the U.S. Marshall’s Service.
