Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies say a 23 year old Town of Binghamton woman is accused of driving drunk in a crash that left even seasoned tow-truck operators scratching their heads.

Authorities say Michaela Felter drove off Park Avenue in the Town of Binghamton at 12:46 a.m. April 6 and wedged her 2014 Subaru between two trees.

Sheriff’s officials say they received a report of a vehicle driving in the woods and, when the Deputy arrived, he found Felter wandering in the area.

After the woman performed poorly during a series of field sobriety tests, she was taken to the Sheriff’s Office headquarters where a breath test found her blood alcohol content over the legal limit.

She is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood alcohol content at more than .08% and moving from a lane unsafely.

Felter was apparently unhurt and turned over to a friend.  But a tow truck driver called to recover her vehicle said he couldn’t just pull it out and at least one tree would have to be cut down.
