The Greater Binghamton area is showing signs of economic progress.

Vice President and Regional Economist at M&T Bank, Gary Keith presented the 2018 Economic Forecast at the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce’s annual economic overview and awards event.

Keith says the progress last year was small but showed gains in employment and Gross Domestic Product.  Officials say more work is needed to rebuild the local economy including continuing the progress in diversifying and restructuring the economic base and utilizing the talents of the higher educational institutions in the area.

The Chamber is also recognizing members making significant contributions to the area’s economy.
