Broome County is no longer under a state of emergency.

After two weeks, County Executive Jason Garnar has lifted the order put into effect July 24 due to flash flooding, primarily along Choconut Creek in the Town of Vestal.

The order was put into effect to aid the county in applying for state and federal money for cleanup costs.

The dumpsters that were placed in four Vestal neighborhoods to help residents in their efforts to dispose of flood damaged items were to be removed August 7.
