You can laugh if you want, but let me just tell you that my completely crazy turkey idea produced delicious results. I don't recommend trying this, but I cooked a large turkey in my Crock-Pot and it was amazing.

My husband is a big fan of turkey and I wanted to surprise him one day last summer by making a turkey for dinner, but I didn't want to turn on the oven and heat up the house. So, I shoved a big turkey in my Crock-Pot and covered it tightly with aluminum foil. I ended up with juices all over my counter, but the meat was so tender and delicious. I can tell you that this is NOT how experts would recommend EVER cooking a turkey, but it worked for me. I'm guessing if I'd reached out to Butterball to ask how to Crock-Pot cook a turkey, they would have told me to back out of the kitchen very slowly.

If you're hosting Thanksgiving at your place this year and run into troubles or have questions, but don't want to admit defeat and ask your mother-in-law for help, you can text Butterball on the sly and she'll never know.

For as long as I can remember, Butterball has had a turkey hotline that you could call with turkey related questions, but for the first time ever, they're introducing a text option where you can text experts at (844) 877-3456 from November 17th through November 24th and someone will be available 24/7 to help you out.

According to Butterball, the most asked question they get every single years is “How long does it take to thaw the turkey?” If you're curious, the answer is, "At least 24 hours for every 4 pounds."

One of my all time favorite shows was the “West Wing,” and so, I give you this Butterball Turkey Talk Line clip from the show-
