Kim Kardashian Supports Caitlyn Jenner’s Big Reveal on Vanity Fair Cover [PHOTO]
Former Olympian Bruce Jenner made his debut as a transgender woman named Caitlyn Jenner on the cover of Vanity Fair today (June 1), The photo, shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, has gone viral and generated an overflow of support from fans as well as family members, including Kim Kardashian.
Kim's sister, Khloe also backed Jenner via social media, writing, "We were given this life because you were strong enough to live it! I couldn't be prouder!!! Caitlyn, You are beautiful!!!"
After the big Vanity Fair cover reveal, Jenner joined Twitter and wrote an empowering message. "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self," she tweeted. "Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me."
A little over four hours later, she gained over 1 million followers, thus smashing the Twitter record set by President Obama, who joined Twitter on May 18 and achieved 1 million followers in under five hours.
Jenner's last splash in the media was in April during his ABC News interview with Diane Sawyer. During their chat, Jenner disclosed that he was transitioning into a woman and revealed that Kanye West was very supportive in his decision.
Unfortunately, not every rapper saw Caitlyn Jenner's cover shoot as a celebratory affair. Freddie Gibbs poked fun at her, remarking that he thought she was actress Jessica Lange. "I thought Bruce Jenner was Jessica Lange on that vanity fair cover," he wrote. You know the old saying, if you don't have anything nice to say...
The July 2015 issue of Vanity Fair magazine, featuring Caitlyn Jenner on the cover, will hit newsstands on June 9.
