The father of an 18 month old child reported abducted through the New York AMBER Alert system is under arrest and the New York State Police are thanking the public for their assistance in quickly returning the boy to his mother.

The AMBER Alert was activated at around 6:30 p.m. June 12 and canceled less than two hours later as Henry W. Kellam was located with his son, Henry A. Kellam in Madison County.

Authorities say the father did not have custody and had all visitation with the child suspended by a court order.

The AMBER Alert was activated by State Police in Endwell following a report of a domestic dispute between Kellam and the toddler’s mother in Oxford June 11.

Troopers say the father had threatened to use a handgun against family and law enforcement if they came after him.

Authorities say during the June 11 incident involving the child’s mother, Killam reportedly forced the woman from his vehicle and fled with the boy.

A number of tips led Police to Madison County Where he was taken into custody without incident.

The child was found in good health and returned to his mother.
