Looking for a way to escape the July heat? How about doing it by celebrating Christmas in July with Kris Kringle Days in Maine?

I love everything related to Christmas (except the barking dog Jingle Bells song, I don't like that) and the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society is whipping up tons of fun for you and your little ones this weekend with 'Kris Kringle Days' in the town of Maine.

Kris Kringle Days will be held this Saturday and Sunday July 23rd and 24th at the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society which sits a mile north of Maine, along Route 26 and Nanticoke Road.

On Saturday, July 23rd there will be a Fine Arts and Craft Sale from 10am-4pm as well as a BBQ and bake sale, all of which will be held on the lawn of the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society and in front of the one-room school house.

Whether history is the name of your game or you want to use Kris Kringle Days as an opportunity to educate your kids while having fun, you'll be happy to know the Janet W. Bowers Victorian House Museum, Schoolhouse No. 4, and Pitcher’s Grist Mill will all be open for free tours on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm-4pm.

Also, the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society is sponsoring the musical "Nuncrackers." This musical will be presented by the Maine Community Players and shows will be at 7:05pm this Friday, July 22nd and Saturday, July 23rd and then there will be an afternoon show at 2:05pm on Sunday, July 24th. The show will be held at the Maine Memorial School on Route 26 in Maine. Learn more about admission and how you can purchase a family package by calling 607-862-9480.
