There's simply no way to sugarcoat this. We're addicted to our phones. Hardcore addicted.

How obsessed are we? Well, if you're like the average person, you're taking a peek at your phone an average of 46 times a day. Every single day.

And it really shouldn't come as a surprise that the number of times we look at our phone goes up as our age goes down.

According to Deloitte, people who are between the ages of 25 and 34 look at their phone 50 times a day, while people who are between the ages of 18 and 24 look at their phones 74 times a day.

If you’re 35 to 44, you look at your phone about 35 times day.

And our obsession is seeping into all parts of our lives. 81% of Americans admit they spend time on their phones while eating out in restaurants, even when they're sitting at the table with someone else.

Most people admit to looking at their phone within five minutes of waking up. But 26% of 18-24-year-olds said they looked at their phones the very second they woke up.

Do you think maybe we should all resolve to try not to spend so much time on our cell phones in 2016?
