With his sixth album, 'X,' finally out, Chris Brown has been candid with the media, talking about the project but also opening up in regards to his time in prison.

In a new interview on 'Extra,' the singer shares details of his time in jail, which helped him grow as a man.

"[It was] a humbling experience," Breezy tells 'Extra' host Mario Lopez. "It was definitely one of the things I’ll never forget… I think for me it’s now about what’s the purpose and what’s the goal that Chris Brown as a person and Chris Brown as an artist is trying to portray.”

And unlike the troubled crooner we've come to know over the last 10 years, today, he prides himself on maturing. “For me I just learned that nobody’s invincible, everybody’s equal, at the same time no amount of celebrity status, no amount of how many fans love you, no amount of anything can deter you away from the real if you make a mistake, and nobody’s excusable," he says. "I think for me it just was a humbling experience for me to become a man and mature.”

And what helped him turn around? Therapy. Brown admits that he sees his therapist twice a week, and that it's actually been a great experience for him.

"Absolutely I believe in therapy," the 25-year-old reveals enthusiastically. "I see my therapist twice a week. You know, it's amazing. And I was first like adamant about it, like I'm not... I don't wanna go to therapy. I'm not gonna to talk to anybody. But as I went through it, it's actually very therapeutic."

Aside from promoting his new LP and going to therapy, Brown has also been trying to get back into shape. “My normal weight is like 180, I was 215 when I got out of jail… I couldn't fit in my jeans, none in my clothes. I was scared to go out, I was like man, people will see me and I look fat so after a while I went and played a lot of basketball, a lot of cardio, I did the 'New Flame' video, BET awards, a couple of other shows, I was always dancing, always dancing, trying to get my body back,” he shares.

Brown's 'X,' which features the song 'New Flame,' is currently in stores.
