Generally in my house, my husband takes the wash to the basement, puts it in the washer then the dryer and then brings it upstairs where he dumps it on the couch and I break into tears.

No, not really. I don't really cry. But sometimes the amount of laundry sitting in front of me, waiting to be folded, is overwhelming.  I have so much respect for families with a lot of people, especially little ones who are amazing at getting their freshly cleaned clothes dirty in seconds.

I swear that the amount of laundry we do in our house has quadrupled since our son came along and it's only going to get worse, so let me say this- this is a piece of technology I need in my life.

A California company has created a robot that'll fold your shirts and pants twice as fast as you could do it yourself. The robot can also “de-wrinkle” them with steam and “perfume” them as it does the job, however it won't fold socks, underwear and bulky things like sheets. But those things are so easy to fold and who cares if your undies are wrinkled and not perfumed?

If you've got an image of Rosie the robot from 'The Jetsons' in your head, no. This is a machine that will stay stationary wherever you set it, not roam around your house in an apron.

The FoldiMate will cost about $850, so unless you're floating in money like Scrooge McDuck, it's not going to be something the average family just runs out and buys.  At least not this average family. And that's sad.
