Authorities say 30 year old David Smith was driving east when he crossed into the oncoming lane at 1:20 p.m., left the road near Lime Hollow Road and went down an embankment with the vehicle becoming tangled in trees and brush.

Smith was not hurt in the crash but Deputies say they found he was driving while his ability was impaired by drugs.

He’s charged with DWAI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, crossing hazard markings and failure to keep right.

He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court later this month.
