Relationship break-ups are a tough thing to go through, and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. When you are ready to put yourself out there after a bad break-up, Bustle has some tips to help you navigate the world of dating again.

  • Have a positive mindset because you want your dating experience to be a pleasant one this time around. Be optimistic when you go out and when you go on your first dates. The person you're seeing may not be the one, but you may still be able to learn from the experience.
  • Don't compare your dates to your ex which will only spell disaster for you and the date that you're on. Give each new person a fair chance. They may not be like your ex, but that could be a very, very good thing!
  • Be your most authentic self to help you and your date out to see if you would be a good fit to keep dating. Trying to be someone else or a "different version" of yourself can only hurt things later on.

It's not uncommon to be afraid to put yourself back out there after a bad break-up, but eventually you will want to make a new connection with someone, so hopefully these tips can help you on your way.
