Having to get over a break-up can be hard, but doing that on top of having to pretend to be cheery around friends and family, that can be the worst. Bustle has a few ways to make the holidays a little bit easier for you if you're dealing with a tough break-up.

  • Keep busy because the more down time you have, the more time you're able to think about your ex-partner and that will only lead to crying and binge-watching romantic movies.
  • Take time for self-care especially when you're finding yourself feeling particularly down that day. Run yourself a bath, light some candles and go to town on a bottle of wine. You deserve to feel great about yourself, no matter how the relationship ended.
  • Keep some perspective which can be especially hard if your friends and relatives are asking about so-and-so and how they are. Just because your ex-significant other is no longer around, there are still so many people in your life who love you.

Go at this day-by-day and take care of yourself first. A break-up is hard no matter what time of the year it is, but you can get through this. So many people have done what you're doing and they're better people for it.
