The always-gorgeous Demi Lovato covers the December/January issue of Latina, her face framed by a shock of buttery, golden hair.

The singer is giving off a mysterious, smoldering stare. She also talks about some key things in her life, such as the pitter-patter of little Lovato feet and how people need to view her short-term role as Dani on 'Glee,' where she plays the GF of Naya Rivera's Santana.

Lovato is a Texas gal, so of course, her internal clock is screaming "BABIES!!!!"

But she's tuning it out...for now.

The 'Heart Attack' songstress said, "I’m a Texas girl, so my instinct is to have babies early. In my heart, I'm like, 'Okay, it’s time to have babies!' But it’s not. I have so much life ahead of me that I actually have to slow my roll. We’ll see where my life is in five years, but I definitely see myself as a mom in 10."

When time comes to have those babies, Lovato, who once dated Joe Jonas, is going to make 'em with a man who tickles her funny bone. That's her simple requirement for a significant other.

"I look for someone who makes me laugh," she said about her preference. "Because 20, 30 years from now, sometimes the spark fades, but when you’re with someone who’s your best friend, that’s what makes a relationship last."

Since her role on 'Glee' is a guest spot, it's likely her character's relationship with Santana won't last.

Still, Lovato wants people to shift focus away from the on-screen smooch to the depth of the relationship and what it means culturally. She said, "Yes, we kissed in the first episode, but I want people to pay less attention to the fact that I’m kissing a girl. Focus on the fact that having a young, multicultural lesbian couple on prime time is a huge step in our generation. It’s showing people that it’s okay to be who you are. Don’t be ashamed of it."

No truer words, Demi!

The issue lands on Nov. 12.
