Today is Wednesday April 9th, 2014.  If you are celebrating a birthday today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Did you know that on this date in 1993 (21 years ago) the Colorado Rockies played their first game and drew a record National League crowd of 80,227 fans.  Here are a couple more interesting tidbits from this date.

**43 years ago…in 1970, Paul McCartney quit The Beatles.

**17 years ago…in 1997, A & M Records issued a press release stating that the members of SOUNDGARDEN had decided to break-up.  And they decided to still be friends.  BTW, they are back together now.

And, 2 years ago….in 2012, “The Lion King” overtook “The Phantom of the Opera” as the highest grossing Broadway show of all time.
