In DMX's "Who We Be," the rapper offers "The options: get shot, go to jail, or getcha ass kicked." As of right now, he seems to have landed on Choice Two.

After being arrested on June 26 just before a performance at Radio City Music Hall, the 44-year-old performer, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has been sentenced to six months in prison in an upstate New York facility for failing to pay child support, according to the Associated Press. He has 12 children.

According to the site, Simmons accumulated more than $400,000 in outstanding payments and was also recently the subject of a robbery complaint in Newark, New Jersey, though there have been no charges pressed in light of the latter.

According to TMZ, a 21-year-old told police that he encountered DMX at an Exxon gas station in April around midnight when—in the midst of a conversation about rap and the music industry—DMX's friend pulled out a gun and demanded the victim fork over his cash. The victim told WBABC he was carrying more than $3,000 from a newly cashed check, and that after DMX took the money, the rapper got back into his car and drove off.

DMX's lawyer, Murray Richman has maintained that "the allegations are unequivocally and utterly false."
