Do I Have An Addiction Or A Passion?
This past weekend I was at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex for a soccer tournament. And, a vendor was set up selling soccer gear. I was at the table checking things out. Then, it was like a light shined down on the table! He had Italy hats for sale! I had to buy a bunch to add to my collection.
I love my Italy hats. I haggled with the guy selling them about the price. But, the fact of the matter is I would have paid what he was asking. When I buy them, I genuinely think I will wear them. However, I always go back to wearing the same hat. I still have to have them though. My family and friends say it is an addiction. I disagree. I call it a passion.
According to the '12 steps of addiction', the first step is admitting that you are powerless over your addiction. Am I powerless over Italy hats? Ok, then maybe I do have an addiction. I justify it by saying that I could have worse addictions, like pizza or Gold. Well, bad example. But, you know what I mean.
What do you think, do I need an intervention or am I ok?
