Do You Really Want Your Dog To Lick You?

We all love our pets, and dogs can be especially affectionate. However, you may want to re-think letting them lick you on the face. Bustle has revealed some pretty gross facts about what your dog's mouth has in it and what they're transferring to you.

• They have parasites as well as yeast and bacteria that are not safe for humans. The myth that dog's mouths are cleaner than human's can be a dangerous thing to believe, and in many cases, they are more dirty and much more harmful to us than another human's mouth (please don't go around kissing strangers).
• You might get poop on your face, which I hate to say it, but it's true! Dogs have some pretty strange habits and one of them tends to be that they will eat their own feces or those of other dogs. If you let your dog lick your face after consuming the waste of another animal, you put yourself at risk for more than just a foul smell and upset stomach.

Again, dogs are wonderful and affectionate creatures, but there are other ways to teach your dog to show affection and ways in which you can show affection to them.
