Does A Bloody Mary Count As A Vegetable?

According to the Daily Mail, a British nutritionist says that a Bloody Mary does in fact count as a vegetable. Obviously, you are better off having the tomato juice without the booze in it...but you still get the benefits of eating a vegetable like the vitamins and whatnot. (Daily Mail)
This might be a stretch, but doesn't sugar come from the earth? Shouldn't that be considered a vegetable? :)
