Drake may have started from the bottom, but he's ready to shine at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. The Young Money superstar will perform his chart-topping single, 'Started From the Bottom,' at the awards ceremony Sunday (Aug. 25).

Drizzy made the announcement Wednesday morning (Aug. 21) on his Twitter account, much to the delight of his fans.

"Excited to announce I'll be performing at the 2013 @MTV VMA's!!! #Brooklyn #OVO #Started #NeedAKawsTrophy," he tweeted. This will also mark his first performance at the VMAs since 2010.

The Toronto rhymer is nominated for two sought-after Kaws-designed Moonmen for Best Direction and Best Hip-Hop Video for 'Started From the Bottom.'

Last year, Drake won an award for his video 'HYFR' featuring Lil Wayne.

The emcee joins previously announced performers Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake (and 'N Sync?), Katy Perry, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Macklemore, Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke.

The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., at 9PM ET.
