A Binghamton man was arrested following a vehicle crash in the city.

Authorities say 37-year-old Jared Meek was taken into custody on Chenango Bridge Road in the town of Chenango shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, deputies were sent to investigate a complaint of a vehicle with significant front-end damage driving on the Brandywine Highway. The vehicle was being operated with no front tire remaining on the wheel.

A patrol caught up to the suspect vehicle on Chenango Bridge Road.

Investigators say Meek was believed to have been driving while intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.16 percent.

Meek was charged with DWI and numerous other traffic violations. He was given an appearance ticket for Chenango town court.

A sheriff's office news release did not indicate where the crash occurred.
