Three men were arrested on weapon charges after they were seen behaving in a suspicious manner outside a Johnson City store.

Authorities say a police officer noticed unusual activity in a vehicle which was in the parking lot of the Walmart store on Gannett Drive around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The officer made a traffic stop on Main Street shortly after the vehicle left the parking lot.

While speaking with the people in the vehicle, officers spotted a handgun on the back seat. The weapon was a loaded High Point 9-millimeter gun with a serial number that had been partially scratched off.

Police say 33-year-old Scott Lord of Sanford, 22-year-old Dane Edwards of Deposit and 22-year-old Joseph Hahn of Walton each face two felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Investigators say Lord was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and Hahn illegally possessed a hypodermic needle. Edwards was wanted on a warrant for a drug-related charge.

All three were arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail.
