Authorities say 29-year-old Jamell Jones of Endwell was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest after the disturbance at the Red Roof Inn on Old Front Street.

Broome County sheriff's deputies were told a man had been banging on motel doors and telling people to let him stay with them. He also called 911 claiming someone was going to shoot him.

Officials say Jones became combative when he was advised to leave. They say after he was handcuffed, he fought deputies by kicking and biting them.

Deputies kept Jones in a sheriff's office van while he was arraigned by a Town of Dickinson judge. He was sent to Broome County Jail on $2,000 bail.

On the previous shift, deputies encountered Jones twice as he caused a disturbance and tried to obtain a hotel room with no money.
