The Broome County Office for Aging is looking for passionate volunteers interested in providing Saturday companion care to seniors at Yesteryears Social Adult Day Program.
As the population ages, the need for respite companion services is greatly increasing. The REST Companion Training Course will provide you with knowledge, confidence and the tools to become a companion for community members needing assistance and families needing respite.
Yesteryears provides frail, isolated or memory-impaired individuals age 60 or older with structured, supervised activities in a warm and caring environment. Through this special volunteer training, we hope to provide caregivers with extended, weekend respite opportunities.
