A simple gesture could make a child's Christmas so much brighter this year. Some local children, who would otherwise wake up on Christmas morning with nothing, are now going to wake up with excitement and a toy to open!

Local police agencies joined forces over the weekend to collect toys for local kids. The Broome County Toys for Tots hosted the first "Fill The Cruiser" toy drive on Saturday. Different agency police vehicles including Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott and New York State were parked in front of the Toys "R" Us in Johnson City where hundreds of toy donations were collected to help local families.

Seeing the community come together after suffering tough economic times, makes me proud to call Binghamton my home!

Couldn't make it to this event? Have more to donate? Check out the Broome County Toys for Tots Facebook page for ways you can help!
