You head on out on a Friday night to have some drinks with friends. You order a drink at the bar, but did you ever stop to think that maybe your bartender is taking advantage and ripping you off? According to an article on Yahoo, here are five ways that they can rip you off.

1. Pouring top shelf alcohol when you didn't ask for it. Most bartenders use cheap bottom shelf boozes unless you ask for something better. But you might need to specify at a nicer more expensive places.

2. Not mentioning the automatic gratuity, so you end up tipping twice. Some bars automatically add a tip once your tab hits a certain point or if there is a certain amount of people being served on one bill. And since it's a bar, they usually don't give you an itemized receipt like restaurants often do, so often you don't notice.

3. Using too much ice. There is less alcohol AND mixer, your drink will taste strong but there will be much less of it because the ice is taking up most of the glass.

4. Charging you more for your second drink if you didn't tip for your first. If you notice, they have an excuse ready to go, like they ran out of the cheap booze and had to use a more expensive kind, or earlier they were running a special on the drink you purchased but that time is now up.

5. Pouring cheap booze into expensive bottles. We have heard for a long time about bars doing this. Usually you can't tell the difference if you are drinking the alcohol mixed with something, like if you order a Red Bull and vodka, you won't be able to tell if they really used Grey Goose or bottom shelf...well your wallet may pay for it along with your headache the next day!
