It's hard to believe we have completed five days for the 17th annual Food-A-Bago Food Drive for Broome County CHOW. And I have to admit, I have not seen this much food donated at this point of the drive in many, many years.

There were a few years where times were tougher than now, including the years we had major flooding in 2006 and 2011, when many people had enough troubles of their own.

As I stand here on a late Friday afternoon, surveying the amount of food already donated, it just boggles my mind, From the many who have dropped off an item, several items, those who did grocery cart challenges. office food drives and those who came with truck loads, it reminds me of the amazing giving spirit we have in our community.

We continue to accept non-perishable food donations, checks and cash through the weekend and Monday morning. We're in the Hillcrest RV camper at the Weis Food Market parking lot on Upper Front Street Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm and Monday 11/6 from 6 to 10am. We also have a CHOW barrel at Gary's U Pull-It on Colesville Road, Binghamton, if that's closer to you.Thank you for helping families in need here in Broome County!
