Tonight is Team Trivia at Antoino’s Galleria & Cafe, 100 Oak Hill Avenue in Endicott starting at 7pm.

First place is going to get $50, second place is going to get a complimentary pizza or flatbread and third place will get a scoop of Antonio’s delicious homemade gelato. Do you believe in an “eye for an eye”? This mother is Utah did! She found out her 10 year old daughter was bullying a girl for her unflattering clothes so she went to a thrift shop and bought her two ugly dresses and made her wear them to school.

I don’t think I would have taken this approach, although I don’t feel it was wrong. I would have made my child go to the girl’s house with flowers or a necklace or some sort of small gift and apologize to the girl AND her parents. I would require my child to sit with that girl at lunch and befriend her, get to know her. Bullying is a serious issue and I wouldn’t take this lightly.

What would you do if you found out your child was being a bully? Would you do what this mother did?

One of the things I’d like to do with the kids this summer is take a tour of the Ben & Jerry’s Factory in Vermont and a tour of the Graveyard. The Flavor Graveyard is where they put retired flavors. Ben & Jerry’s has experimented with many flavors over the years and have actually retired around 200 flavors. The Flavor Graveyard holds around 27 tombs. Make sure to try this before it is no longer available. I think this would be a fun overnight trip to take with the kids, plus you get to sample ice cream!

I’d have to say if you haven’t tried Ben & Jerry’s Cannoli Ice Cream, you should before it is no longer available. You won’t be disappointed!

Ingredients:

• Boneless Chicken
• Flour
• Egg
• Bread Crumbs
• Vegetable Oil

Directions

1. Get out 3 small bowls. A separate bowl for egg, breadcrumbs, and flour.
2. Break egg into it’s bowl and scramble.
3. In another bowl, dump in a cup of bread crumbs.
4. In the last bowl, add one cup of flour.
5. You can either buy chicken that is already in tender strips or cut your own chicken breast into your desired size.
6. Begin by covering each piece of chicken in flour, then in egg, followed by bread crumbs.
7. Make sure the bottom of a frying pan is covered in oil and place chicken in the pan.
8. Follow these steps for each piece of chicken.
9. Fry chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through and until it’s as crispy as you’d like.
10. Serve and enjoy!

This morning I was woken up at 5am with a text message from my dad. He told me that they had to bring my 5 year old Peke-a-poo, Chloe Mae, to the vet. My heart sank and I immediately called my dad. I felt so helpless not being there and since my car decided to break down this weekend (more on that later) I couldn’t just get up and go to the vet with them.

They are thinking that she is suffering from something gastric related but they are keeping her today to run some tests and to give her the proper medications. My heart just hurts today because I know she doesn’t feel well, she’s in an unfamiliar place and there is nothing I can do. I am just hoping she will be ok because she my child.

I know some people who are not pet lovers would laugh at someone saying their pet is like family but if you do not own a pet, you really can’t understand the bond between an owner and their pet. Chloe is such a smart dog and she even knows me as “mommy”. Tell her “Mommy is home”and she will jump up on the back of the couch to watch me pull in the driveway through the window.

To all my fellow animal lovers out there and for those who treat their pets like part of the family: send some positive thoughts my way! I’m so anxious today just waiting for updates on my little Chloe Mae!
