Binghamton University graduation events take place this weekend with lots of additional traffic on the Vestal Parkway, full hotels and increased business at area restaurants.

Over 3,500 degrees for bachelor’s, masters and doctoral candidates are being conferred through Sunday, May 22.

The university says $1.65 million is spent in the local economy with a $2.66 million impact on the Broome/Tioga county economies and $2.63 million impact on the state economy.

Over 2,200 guests are expected on campus in addition to the over 3,000 graduates.

SUNY Broome Community College held graduation ceremonies May 19 at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans' Memorial Arena in Downtown Binghamton.
