Hear Drake + Dawn Richard’s Previously Unreleased Track ‘Where Were You’
Drake hasn't been seen or heard in a while, so it's always good to hear something new from the Canadian superstar. A previously unreleased track featuring the VMA winner and Diddy-Dirty Money alum Dawn Richard recently surfaced online. It's a haunting song that features Drake's tear-jerky vocals and reflective rhymes.
Over a warm synth-driven soundbed, Drake and Dawn are two former lovers still pining for each other after their relationship has failed. "I have to watch the road / I swear that every car that passes has you in it / I can’t believe we’re finished / My life is movin’ fast / The time will often pass / And something will remind me / I can’t put this behind me," he sings.
Drake continues to reflect on his love lost with a verse near the end of the song. "I can't go to bed / I'm thinking about my goals / And how we used to say a goal is just a dream with a deadline / Where did the other half of my heart go?" he raps.
Unfortunately, this isn't a new song from Drizzy. It turns out that it's actually Colin Munroe's 'Whatever Became of You,' which he submitted for Drake's 2010 album 'Thank Me Later' but was later scrapped. Either way, it's good to hear something fresh from Drake and let's hope there is some official music on the horizon from the OVO camp.
