The reason I am writing this blog is because I recently got on the scale and realized that I am 10 pounds away from weighing what I did when I graduated high school.

Let me start by saying that I am not going to become one of those people that preaches about exercise and eating right. Nor will you see me doing any motivational speaking tours anytime soon.

And, there is a 99% chance I think you are beautiful. So, if you feel you need to change for someone else then you probably won't succeed. My point is, whatever you do, do it for yourself and not for anyone else.

On a side note, if you are not struggling with weight but know someone who is, the worst thing you can do is remind them that they are overweight or the dangers of carrying the extra weight around. If you want to really help, then don't say anything at all. When we are ready we will make changes.

I have been getting asked recently how I lost my weight. So, here are the 3 things that I truly believe will help you, no matter where you are on your fitness journey. Am I where I want to be as far as health and fitness goes? No. But, I have never felt better.

Here are my 3 tips for you to get going on your journey:

1) Treat your most important meal of the day like it's the most important meal of the day. Let me explain. I LOVE pizza and used to eat it everyday for breakfast. A good friend told me that if I eat carbs, sugar and fat in the morning I will crave that all day long.

The first thing I changed was what I put in my mouth in the morning. I changed nothing else about my diet but everyday I do a protein smoothie FIRST! And, if I am still hungry I might do some more protein, like a bar or something. You will be amazed at how it affects you the rest of your day.

2) MOVE! Run. If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk. Swim. If you can't swim, walk up and down the hall or stand up and sit down at your desk. My point is move more than what you are doing now. Trust me, it will snowball!

3) STOP MAKING EXCUSES! I can say this because I am the king of excuses. But, excuses only hurt you. Because no one else cares. So, when you want to make an excuse, sit back and really think about why you don't want to do something.

Good Luck! I hope that helps!
