Are things in your marriage getting stale and boring. If you are not careful that can be the beginning of the end. Here are some ways to regain that spark.

You are not alone if you are in a marriage that leaves you craving more fun and excitement. I think it's just one of those things that happens after falling into a routine over the years.

But, the more important question is, "what can I do about it?"

Author Gregory J.P. Godek wrote a book called "1001 Ways To Be Romantic." So, if you are stuck in a boring marriage, check out some ways for putting spice and spark back into your marriage.

  1. Identify the one pivotal event that brought the two of you together. Celebrate that event every year.
  2. Give him a Victoria's Secret catalog with a note saying, "You choose, I'll buy."
  3. Get your mate a watch, inscribed: "I always have time for you."
  4. Following a bubble bath that you've prepared for her, wrap her in a warm towel that you've heated in the dryer.
  5. Have "your song" playing on the stereo when your mate returns from work.
  6. Eat breakfast by candlelight -- a unique variation on the dinner-by-candlelight theme.
  7. Cut a big piece of cardboard out of a huge box and make a giant "I love you" card.
  8. Visit a Karakoe bar and surprise your lover by getting up and singing "your song."
  9. Pick flowers for your partner from the roadside.
  10. Spend an entire day together watching romantic movies.
  11. Buy your partner a lottery ticket with a note: "I hit the jackpot when I married you."
  12. If you're not much of a writer, create an audio love letter on tape. Then gift wrap it.
  13. Call your partner from work on Wednesday and formally ask for a date for the weekend.
  14. Mail your partner a Rolodex card with your name and number on it. Write: "Your instant resource for love. Call when lonely."
  15. Write "I love you" on the bathroom mirror with a piece of soap.
  16. Spread flower petals all over the bathroom.
  17. Ladies: Send a letter sealed with a lipstick kiss.
  18. Hold hands when you're out together, even if just walking into the grocery store.
  19. Call your partner from work for no other reason than to say "I love you."
  20. Give a dozen roses with a creative twist: 11 red and one white with a note saying, "In every bunch there is one who stands out."

Now go get that spark back!
