My wife and I have totally different tastes in music. Sometimes I'll be blasting some good tunes and it gets stuck in her head. Of course then she gets mad me.

Here is a little trick I can now tell her to do to remedy that.

Psychologists at the University of Reading in England just found that the best way to get a song out of your head is to chew gum!

Your mouth moves at a different rhythm than the song in your head, so it's distracting your brain.

They found that when people chew gum, the amount of time they "heard" the song running through their head was cut down by 33%. They think gum works because your chewing creates "inner speech". Your mouth moves at a different rhythm than the song in your head, so it's distracting your brain. Makes sense, right?

The researchers even think the gum technique could even work to get other things out of your head, like obsessing over something. I guess it's worth a try. (Irish Examiner)

Hopefully this will help you the next time you have Let It Go stuck in your noggin!
