Some things in life only get better with age, like a good red wine or a barrel-aged craft beer (trust me on that one). You may not always think so, but there are things that you can bring into your home as well that will only get better the older they are. Here are a few things to consider:

  • Mirrors are something that we all have in our houses. More likely than not, we have one in almost every room of the house, and we obviously look at them every single day. A vintage mirror can be something eye-catching and can add history to your home.
  • Lighting is another item in the home that naturally catches the eye. Instead of just a functional, boring light fixture look for something vintage that visually stimulates the eye.
  • Brass is a beautiful neutral metal that can be added in many different ways; as a vase, candlesticks, or as a lamp. This metal is also very easily cleaned with just lemon juice and baking soda!
  • Rugs are a beautiful piece of work as their own and something really worth investing in. Rugs are usually what ties a room together, so why not go vintage and give your room a much homey feel?
  • Art is an obvious decor item that all people keep in their homes. There are so many eras of art from years past that you're bound to find something that you love at a flea market or thrift store.

If you're lucky, you can maybe acquire family heirlooms that you can place around your home to add character and glamour to your house.
